Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Industrial Degreaser to join our maintenance team at our Werribee facility. This is a heavy-duty role requiring an individual who is not afraid of hard work and is committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in an industrial setting. You will be responsible for the thorough degreasing of machinery, equipment, and facility surfaces to ensure optimal performance, prevent wear, and uphold stringent safety and hygiene standards. This role offers high pay for a demanding yet rewarding physical job, with comprehensive training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform extensive degreasing and cleaning of heavy machinery, equipment, and facility components using specialized cleaning agents and tools.
- Operate high-pressure washing equipment and other cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of chemicals.
- Inspect areas to identify cleaning needs and ensure all surfaces meet required cleanliness standards.
- Dispose of waste and hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and prolonged standing in an industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to thorough cleaning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn and adhere to them.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labour or industrial cleaning role.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., pressure washers, scrubbers).
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
- OHS/WHS White Card certification.
