Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our thriving practice in Cardiff. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified professional, including those requiring sponsorship, to become an integral part of our patient-focused team. You will be responsible for providing a full range of preventative and therapeutic oral hygiene services, educating patients on optimal oral health practices, and collaborating closely with our dentists to ensure comprehensive care. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental hygiene assessments and charting.
- Perform scale and polish treatments, including advanced periodontal therapies as needed.
- Administer local anaesthesia and apply topical fluoride and fissure sealants.
- Provide tailored oral health education and demonstrate effective brushing/flossing techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all clinical governance and CQC standards.
- Collaborate with dentists and other dental professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical cleanliness.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
- Current professional registration or eligibility for registration with the GDC (General Dental Council) in the UK.
- Demonstrable experience providing high-quality dental hygiene services (minimum 2 years post-qualification).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach.
- Proficiency in administering local anaesthesia.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital dentistry software and patient management systems (e.g., SOE Exact).
- Post-qualification certifications in advanced periodontal techniques or tooth whitening.
- Fluency in additional languages.
