Job Description
We are urgently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dishwasher / Kitchen Steward to join our dynamic kitchen team for an immediate start. This vital role ensures the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Key Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans according to health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including machinery and sinks.
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down work surfaces.
- Support the culinary team by ensuring a continuous supply of clean equipment and plating materials.
- Properly store cleaned items in their designated places to maintain kitchen efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to disposal areas regularly.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by kitchen management.
Required Skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a positive, can-do attitude.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and carry heavy items (up to 20kg).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant setting is advantageous but not strictly required.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food safety procedures.
- A Food Hygiene Certificate Level 1 or 2 (training can be provided if not held).
