Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distance Learning Coordinator to join our team, supporting public education initiatives primarily in the Leominster, MA area, though this is a fully remote position. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing effective distance learning programs and technologies. You will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and IT staff to ensure seamless delivery of online educational content and provide technical support and training where needed. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between traditional and virtual learning environments, ensuring equitable access and high-quality educational experiences for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage distance learning programs and initiatives for public education clients.
- Provide technical assistance and support for learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
- Train educators and staff on best practices for online instruction and technology utilization.
- Collaborate with curriculum development teams to adapt educational content for online delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of distance learning programs, making recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and data privacy regulations in all distance learning activities.
- Act as a primary point of contact for technical issues related to remote learning platforms.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in distance education.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an educational technology or distance learning coordination role.
- Proficiency with major Learning Management Systems (e.g., PowerSchool Learning, Canvas, Google Classroom).
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles for online and blended learning environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective user support.
- Experience working with K-12 public education institutions or districts.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with data analytics and reporting for educational program evaluation.
- Certifications in specific educational technologies or instructional design.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for online content.
