Job Description
Are you an energetic, reliable individual with an undeniable passion for dogs? Barrie Paws & Play is seeking a dedicated Dog Daycare Playroom Attendant to join our vibrant team. This active role is perfect for someone who loves being on their feet, interacting with dogs all day, and ensuring their happiness and safety. You will be responsible for supervising playgroups, managing dog behavior, and maintaining a clean and engaging environment. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise dog playgroups to ensure a safe and positive environment for all dogs.
- Actively engage with dogs through play, affection, and positive reinforcement.
- Monitor dog behavior and intervene appropriately to prevent conflicts or correct undesirable actions.
- Clean and sanitize play areas, kennels, and common spaces regularly to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Provide basic care, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed.
- Observe and report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to management.
- Manage dog introductions and integrate new dogs into playgroups.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding dog behavior and facility needs.
- Assist with customer check-ins and check-outs as needed.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and passion for dogs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout a shift.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting (e.g., daycare, kennel, shelter).
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of dog behavior and canine body language.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
