Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and independent individual to join our team as a Dog Walking Route Manager. This full-time role is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors, has a deep connection with animals, and thrives on managing their own schedule and routes. As a Route Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing daily dog walking schedules within an assigned geographical area of Victoria. This involves managing client relationships, ensuring the safety and well-being of all dogs under your care, and providing consistent, high-quality service. This is an active, outdoor-focused position that requires excellent time management, communication skills, and a reliable mode of transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute daily dog walking routes efficiently and safely.
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all dogs during walks, adhering to company protocols and client instructions.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with clients regarding their pets' activities and any observations.
- Maintain accurate records of walks, client information, and dog behaviour.
- Handle dog leashing, feeding, and waste disposal responsibly.
- Provide basic obedience reinforcement and positive interaction with all dogs.
- Navigate routes effectively, adapting to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
- Ensure all dogs are returned home safely and securely.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with dog handling and understanding of dog behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk several miles daily.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in professional dog walking, pet sitting, or animal care.
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with the Victoria area and local dog-friendly trails/parks.
- Experience with scheduling software or route optimization tools.
