Job Description

YWCA Regina is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Early Childhood Education Intern to join our Pre-K program. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and vibrant childcare setting. You will work directly with experienced educators, learning best practices in early childhood development, curriculum implementation, and classroom management, specifically tailored for children preparing for kindergarten. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their career in ECE, providing comprehensive training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead educators in daily classroom activities, focusing on Pre-K curriculum.
  • Support the creation and implementation of engaging educational and play-based learning experiences.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Observe and learn child development principles and effective classroom management techniques.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
  • Support children with their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain).
