Job Description
Are you passionate about creating connections and eager to learn the art of coffee? Starbucks in San Diego is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Trainee Barista / Coffee Shop Assistant. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for someone with no prior experience in coffee or food service. We provide full, comprehensive training to help you master the craft of coffee making, deliver exceptional customer service, and thrive in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Key Responsibilities
- Learn to prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages following Starbucks recipes and quality standards.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, respectful, and efficient manner, taking orders and processing payments accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and equipment.
- Assist with stocking shelves, rotating inventory, and preparing food items.
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Required Skills
- Strong desire to learn and grow within the coffee industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work daytime hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality (though not required for this trainee role).
