Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional for a key role within our Education, Academia & Social Work division. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being and development of individuals and families in the Albany area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and educational resources, often engaging with diverse populations. This role may involve direct client interaction, program development, community outreach, or educational instruction, depending on specific departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise. Key Responsibilities
- Assess client needs and develop individualized support plans or educational strategies.
- Provide direct social work services, counseling, or educational instruction to individuals, families, or groups.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and resources.
- Conduct community outreach and engagement to promote program awareness and access.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with organizational and legal standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training relevant to social work, education, or cultural competence.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to necessary services and resources.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs or educational curricula.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to client-centered practice.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related advanced degree.
- Relevant licensure or certification (e.g., LCSW, LPC, teaching certification).
- Experience working in a healthcare, non-profit, or educational setting.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
- Knowledge of local community resources and social service networks.
