Job Description

NZ Post Fleet Services in Nelson is looking for an enthusiastic Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet Mechanic Trainee to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured training program covering EV systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and safety.

  • Learn to perform diagnostic checks using specialized EV tools and software.
  • Support the team in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.

Required Skills

  • A strong desire to learn and develop a career in automotive mechanics, specifically with EVs.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid New Zealand Class 1 driver's license.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or NCEA Level 2/3 equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge or demonstrated interest in electric vehicles or sustainable technology.
  • Completion of any introductory automotive or technical courses is a plus, but not required.
