Job Description

NZ Post Fleet Services in Nelson is looking for an enthusiastic Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet Mechanic Trainee to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured training program covering EV systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and safety.
- Assist certified technicians with routine maintenance and repairs on our diverse EV fleet.
- Learn to perform diagnostic checks using specialized EV tools and software.
- Support the team in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
Required Skills
- A strong desire to learn and develop a career in automotive mechanics, specifically with EVs.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid New Zealand Class 1 driver's license.
- Must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or NCEA Level 2/3 equivalent.
- Basic knowledge or demonstrated interest in electric vehicles or sustainable technology.
- Completion of any introductory automotive or technical courses is a plus, but not required.
