Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Elevator / Escalator Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on elevator and escalator systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace defective components, including motors, controllers, brakes, and door mechanisms.
  • Execute modernization and installation projects according to specifications and safety codes.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls and breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, explaining technical issues and solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in elevator and escalator installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to vertical transportation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environments.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification from a recognized elevator/escalator trade school (e.g., NAEC CET/CEIS, QEI).
  • Experience with various brands and types of elevator and escalator equipment.
  • Proven track record of successful project completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience working in a field service role.
