Key Responsibilities

• Answer emergency (000) and non-emergency calls promptly and professionally.
• Gather critical information from callers in high-stress situations while maintaining a calm and reassuring demeanor.
• Accurately record incident details into computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
• Prioritise and dispatch appropriate police, fire, or ambulance resources efficiently.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers as needed, following established protocols.
• Liaise with other emergency services agencies and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of all communications and dispatches.
• Adhere to all QPS policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in critical situations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software systems quickly.

• Australian Citizenship or permanent residency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service or call centre environment.
• Familiarity with the Brisbane metropolitan area or Queensland geography.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• A genuine interest in public safety and community service.
