Job Description
Are you passionate about sustainability and looking for an exciting entry-level career opportunity with comprehensive training? EnerVision Home Services is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Energy Efficiency Home Auditor (Trainee) to join our growing team in Moncton. No prior experience in energy auditing is required; we provide full paid training to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. This role involves local travel to residential homes throughout the Moncton area, and a company vehicle will be provided for all work-related travel. You will play a crucial role in helping homeowners understand their energy usage and identify opportunities for improvement, contributing directly to a more energy-efficient and sustainable New Brunswick.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough energy audits in residential homes using specialized tools and equipment (training provided).
- Collect accurate data on home characteristics, energy systems, and insulation levels.
- Identify and document areas of energy loss and potential improvements (e.g., air sealing, insulation, window upgrades).
- Engage with homeowners to explain audit findings and discuss potential energy-saving recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment such as blower doors and infrared cameras (after training) to assess home performance.
- Prepare detailed audit reports under the guidance of senior auditors and adhere to established company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all audit activities and homeowner interactions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while in the field and on client properties.
- Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development programs to enhance expertise.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule effectively.
- Strong interest in energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and home improvement.
- Physical ability to access various areas of a home (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, basements) and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to learn new technical concepts and apply them in a practical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field such as environmental studies, building technology, or trades.
- Previous experience in a customer service or client-facing role.
- Familiarity with general building construction or home renovation concepts.
