Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English / ESL Teacher to join our dynamic team in Headingley, Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and guide international students on their language learning journey. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English language lessons to diverse groups of international students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching materials and techniques to cater to different learning styles and levels.
  • Assess student progress regularly through tests, assignments, and ongoing feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their language development.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and teaching materials.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
  • Adhere to Kaplan International Languages' academic policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • CELTA or equivalent recognized ESL teaching qualification (e.g., Trinity CertTESOL)
  • Excellent command of the English language (native or near-native proficiency)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and online resources
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
  • DELTA or higher-level ESL qualification
  • Experience teaching specific purpose English (e.g., Business English, Academic English)
  • Familiarity with UK educational standards and assessments
  • Proficiency in a second language
