Job Description

Phoenix Industrial Solutions is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, focusing on OSHA compliance and broader EHS initiatives. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to EHS regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation, preparing you for a successful career in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Support the EHS team in maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Help develop and deliver safety training materials for employees on various EHS topics.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Aid in maintaining EHS documentation, including safety data sheets, permits, and training records.
  • Contribute to environmental initiatives, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency programs.
  • Research best practices in EHS and propose improvements to existing procedures.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program related to Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations or other national safety standards.
  • Previous experience with data collection or report generation.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability.
