Job Description
Phoenix Industrial Solutions is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, focusing on OSHA compliance and broader EHS initiatives. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to EHS regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation, preparing you for a successful career in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Support the EHS team in maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Help develop and deliver safety training materials for employees on various EHS topics.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Aid in maintaining EHS documentation, including safety data sheets, permits, and training records.
- Contribute to environmental initiatives, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency programs.
- Research best practices in EHS and propose improvements to existing procedures.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program related to Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of OSHA regulations or other national safety standards.
- Previous experience with data collection or report generation.
- Demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability.
