Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Fiberglass Layup Helper to join our manufacturing team in Birmingham. In this essential role, you will assist in the creation of high-quality composite components for various applications, including automotive and potential marine projects. This position requires careful attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, especially the consistent wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and a willingness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced production environment. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare molds and surfaces for fiberglass layup by cleaning and applying release agents.
  • Cut and trim fiberglass materials according to specifications and templates.
  • Apply resin to fiberglass materials, ensuring proper saturation and coverage.
  • Assist in the layup and consolidation of composite layers into molds.
  • Operate basic hand tools and equipment used in fiberglass fabrication.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Strictly follow all safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Support senior technicians and team leads in various production tasks.
