Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join our specialized team providing overnight security for various film and television production locations in and around Wakefield, West Yorkshire. This is a unique opportunity to work behind the scenes in the bustling world of film, ensuring the safety of cast, crew, equipment, and sets during non-shooting hours. This role involves predominantly overnight shifts and requires individuals who are reliable, observant, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for those looking to start a career in security within an exciting industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of film set locations, checking for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and potential hazards.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
- Control access points, verifying credentials for authorized personnel entering and exiting the set.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of patrols, incidents, and other relevant activities.
- Ensure the security and safety of all filming equipment, props, vehicles, and personnel during overnight hours.
- Work collaboratively with production staff to understand security requirements and site-specific needs.
- Provide a visible and reassuring security presence.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and monitoring systems.
- A valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation (due to varying film locations).
Preferred Qualifications
- SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license (full training and support for obtaining this will be provided if not already held).
- Previous experience in a security role (not mandatory, as full training is given).
- First Aid certification (training can be provided).
