Job Description
Join ServiceMaster Clean as a Fire Damage Soot Wiper and become a vital part of our restoration efforts in Windsor. This is an entry-level position where you will receive comprehensive training to safely and effectively remove soot and smoke residue from various surfaces after fire incidents. Your work will directly contribute to helping individuals and businesses recover and rebuild. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, physical stamina, and the unwavering commitment to wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated by safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough and meticulous cleaning of soot and smoke residue from walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, and other contents.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety guidelines, including the consistent and correct use of respirators, gloves, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Utilize specialized cleaning agents, tools, and equipment as directed, ensuring their proper handling and maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to efficiently complete restoration projects within specified timelines.
- Carefully pack, move, and unpack salvageable items, ensuring no further damage during the cleaning process.
- Assist with debris removal and general site cleanup as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team leaders regarding job progress, challenges, or additional observations on site.
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with clients and property occupants.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting (up to 25 kg), kneeling, standing, and reaching for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in environments that may have strong odors or require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
- No prior experience in restoration or cleaning is required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or general labour.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
