Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Flight Instructor to join our professional training team. As a Flight Instructor at Goulburn Aviation Academy, you will be responsible for providing high-quality ground and flight instruction to students pursuing various pilot certifications and ratings, including Private Pilot License (PPL), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Instrument Rating (IR), and potentially advanced multi-engine training. This role requires a strong commitment to aviation safety, adherence to regulatory standards, and a passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring pilots. You will play a crucial role in developing the skills and knowledge of our students, preparing them for successful careers in aviation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive ground instruction on aviation theory, aerodynamics, meteorology, navigation, and regulations.
• Conduct flight instruction for various ratings and licenses, including pre-flight briefings, in-flight coaching, and post-flight debriefings.
• Evaluate student performance and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed student records, logbooks, and training documentation in compliance with CASA regulations.
• Ensure all training activities adhere to Goulburn Aviation Academy's safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives for flight training programs.
• Conduct solo flight endorsements and check rides as authorized.
• Stay current with aviation regulations, instructional techniques, and industry best practices.
• Foster a professional and positive learning environment for all students.

Required Skills

• Valid CASA Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) with relevant endorsements (e.g., Grade 1 or 2).
• Current Class 1 or 2 Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 500 hours total flight time.
• Demonstrated experience in flight instruction for PPL, CPL, and potentially IR.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
• Thorough understanding of CASA regulations (CASR Parts 61, 91, 132).
• Strong commitment to aviation safety and professional standards.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-Engine Endorsement (ME) and experience instructing on multi-engine aircraft.
• Instrument Rating (IR) and experience instructing on instrument procedures.
• Experience with integrated flight training programs.
• Previous experience working in a Part 141 or Part 142 approved training organization.
• Advanced instructional endorsements (e.g., Night VFR, Aerobatics).
