Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Foreclosed Home Trash-Out Laborer to join our property preservation team in Lafayette, LA. This crucial role involves the complete removal of debris, junk, and remaining personal items from foreclosed properties to prepare them for rehabilitation or sale. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently in various conditions. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you contribute directly to the revitalization of properties within our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently remove all unwanted items, debris, and trash from foreclosed residential and commercial properties.
- Categorize and dispose of items in accordance with company policy and local regulations, including general waste, hazardous materials, and items for donation.
- Perform basic broom-sweeping and light cleaning of properties post trash-out to ensure a clean slate for subsequent services.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools as needed for item disassembly or removal.
- Load and unload materials onto company vehicles or disposal containers.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding project progress and any unexpected issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company tools and equipment.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for sustained periods of manual labor.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in a labor environment.
- Reliability and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Punctuality and commitment to assigned schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in general labor, demolition, moving, or property maintenance.
