Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Gemologist / Diamond Grader to join our expert team. This unique opportunity includes international sponsorship for qualified candidates, reflecting our global commitment to sourcing and developing top talent in the gemology field. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assessing and grading diamonds and other precious gemstones according to established industry standards (GIA or equivalent). You will work within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, contributing to the integrity and reputation of our products. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and consistent grading of polished diamonds using industry-standard equipment and methodologies (4Cs: Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity).
  • Identify and grade various precious gemstones, including rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, based on their individual characteristics.
  • Operate and maintain gemological instruments, ensuring their calibration and optimal performance.
  • Document grading results thoroughly and accurately, maintaining detailed records.
  • Collaborate with sales, procurement, and quality control teams to ensure product consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with gemological advancements, market trends, and new grading techniques.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, ethical guidelines, and security protocols.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • Graduate Gemologist (G.G.) diploma from GIA or equivalent recognized gemological institution.
  • Strong understanding of diamond grading principles and the 4Cs.
  • Proficiency in using standard gemological equipment (microscope, loupe, colorimeter, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
  • Ability to work meticulously and with high precision under pressure.
  • Strong ethical compass and commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced gemstone identification and treatment detection.
  • Familiarity with international gemological standards and practices.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to international markets.
  • Prior experience working in a high-volume grading laboratory.
  • Certification in specific gemstone identification (e.g., GIA AJP, FGA).
