Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Hand to provide essential support services within schools and universities in the Wollongong area. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in facilities support, offering comprehensive on-the-job training. You will be instrumental in ensuring educational environments are safe, clean, and well-maintained, contributing to a positive experience for students, staff, and visitors. Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, requiring a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and assist wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks across school and university campuses, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical checks.
- Assist with groundskeeping duties such as mowing, weeding, litter removal, and general garden upkeep.
- Set up and pack down equipment for events, meetings, and classes, including furniture, audiovisual equipment, and other materials.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, reporting any defects, damage, or safety hazards to management.
- Support cleaning teams as needed, including waste removal, sweeping, and general tidying of common areas.
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and deliveries across campus locations.
- Adhere to all occupational health and safety (OH&S) guidelines and company policies.
- Operate basic hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently after appropriate training.
- Provide general assistance and support to school and university staff as required.

- First Aid certificate.
