Job Description

Halfords Autocentres in Newtownabbey is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team as a General Service Technician (Trainee). We provide comprehensive, hands-on training from day one, covering everything you need to know to become a skilled technician. No tools? No problem! We’ll equip you with all the necessary equipment to kickstart your journey with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shadowing and assisting experienced technicians with vehicle servicing and repairs.
  • Learning to perform routine vehicle inspections, oil changes, and tire services.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards.
  • Participating actively in all training sessions and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Developing excellent customer service skills and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical concepts (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A full UK driving license (for future career progression).
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Genuine interest in cars or vehicle maintenance.
