Job Description
Sobeys Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Goods-In Receiving Clerk to join our team in Corner Brook, NL. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in a dynamic warehouse and administrative environment. As a Goods-In Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of products into our facility, combining hands-on warehouse tasks with essential data entry and record-keeping. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Accurately record goods received in our inventory management system.
- Organize and store received products in designated warehouse locations.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment safely (e.g., pallet jack – training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Collaborate with warehouse and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform other administrative duties as required, such as filing and data entry.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs (with assistance when needed).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or administrative role is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
