Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Government Education Support – School Focus in Launceston. This role is integral to the smooth and effective operation of our school environments, providing crucial support to teachers, students, and administrative staff. You will assist with classroom activities, student supervision, administrative tasks, and contribute to a safe and engaging learning atmosphere. This is an on-site position within a school setting, requiring a commitment to fostering positive educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to teachers in classroom settings, including preparing materials and assisting with lesson delivery.
- Supervise students during activities, breaks, and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist individual students or small groups with learning tasks, under the guidance of a teacher.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
- Support the implementation of school policies and procedures, particularly those related to student welfare and behavior.
- Contribute to maintaining an organised and positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents as required.
- Assist with the setup and pack down of school events and activities.

- A genuine interest in supporting the education and development of young people.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with common office software.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Education Support or a related field.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
- Experience working with children or young people with diverse learning needs.
- Current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) check or willingness to obtain one.
