Job Description
Ricoh USA is seeking a dedicated and reliable Government Mailroom Operative to join our team in Farmington, NM. This is an active and dynamic role crucial for the smooth operation of our client’s government facility. You will be responsible for handling the daily inbound and outbound mail and package flow, ensuring accuracy, security, and timely delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and distribute incoming mail, packages, and inter-office correspondence to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Process outgoing mail, including weighing, applying postage, and preparing items for shipment with various carriers.
- Operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, scanners, and package tracking systems.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of mail and package movements.
- Handle sensitive and confidential materials with discretion and according to established security protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal clients regarding mailroom services.
- Assist with inventory management of mailroom supplies.
- Lift and move mail trays, boxes, and packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and government regulations.
- Support other administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer proficiency (email, data entry).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a mailroom, warehouse, or office support role.
- Familiarity with mail sorting procedures and postal regulations.
