Job Description

Are you looking for an active and engaging role where no two days are the same? Regal Asset Management is seeking a dedicated Government Surplus Auction Assistant to join our team in Hastings. This hands-on position is perfect for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys a dynamic work environment. You will be instrumental in the processing and preparation of diverse government surplus items for public auction. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn and contribute.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the receipt, verification, and cataloging of incoming government surplus items.
  • Clean, organize, and prepare items for photography and auction display.
  • Conduct basic inventory checks and maintain accurate records of items.
  • Support auction event setup, including item placement and visitor registration.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and the collection of purchased items post-auction.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures and government regulations.
  • Operate basic warehouse equipment safely (training provided).
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth auction operations.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina for lifting, moving, and handling various items (up to 25kg).
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with auction processes or inventory management.
  • Basic photography skills for item cataloging.
  • A valid UK driving license is a plus.
