Job Description
Join Mitie as a Grounds Maintenance Worker / Trainee Gardener and embark on a rewarding career working outdoors. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about horticulture and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, with full training provided. You will support our experienced teams in delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across various sites in Carlisle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, edging, and weeding.
- Help with the planting and care of shrubs, flowers, and trees.
- Support the upkeep of paths, driveways, and other hard landscaped areas.
- Operate basic grounds maintenance equipment under supervision after appropriate training.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to company health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and proper care of equipment.
- Report any hazards or issues to a supervisor promptly.
Required Skills
- A strong willingness to learn and develop new skills in grounds maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Enthusiasm for outdoor work in all weather conditions.
