Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Heavy Equipment / Plant Manager to oversee our aggregate production facility in Nashville, TN. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of plant operations, including production targets, equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, a proven track record in plant management, and a commitment to operational efficiency and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily plant operations to ensure production goals are met efficiently and safely.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and plant machinery, ensuring maximum uptime.
- Implement and enforce all company safety policies and procedures, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of plant operators, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished products, and spare parts.
- Manage operational budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Prepare regular reports on plant performance, safety metrics, and financial outcomes.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in heavy equipment operation or maintenance.
- Proven experience in plant management or a supervisory role within a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of aggregate production processes and heavy equipment mechanics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency in operational planning, budgeting, and resource management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and operational issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Certifications in heavy equipment operation or maintenance.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
