Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Rigging Supervisor to lead and oversee complex rigging operations for our major infrastructure and construction projects in Miami. This pivotal role involves planning, executing, and supervising the safe and efficient movement of heavy loads and equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily heavy rigging operations, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
- Develop and implement rigging plans, including load calculations, equipment selection, and sequencing.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure adherence to all company and regulatory safety standards.
- Inspect rigging equipment for proper functionality and maintain detailed logs of inspections and repairs.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Train and mentor rigging crews, promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.
- Manage and track inventory of rigging equipment and materials.
- Respond to and resolve any operational issues or challenges that arise during rigging activities.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to heavy lifting and rigging.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy rigging operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven expertise in rigging techniques, load securement, and crane operations.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, ASME).
- Ability to read and interpret rigging plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
- Physical ability to work in demanding construction environments and lift heavy objects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NCCCO Rigger Level II/III, Signalperson, Crane Operator).
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects (bridges, high-rises, marine structures).
- Knowledge of international rigging standards and practices.
- Previous experience supervising diverse, multi-cultural teams.
