Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Hydroponic Farm Harvester to join our growing team in Vaughan, Ontario. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about sustainable agriculture and eager to contribute to a clean food system. You will be responsible for the daily harvesting, packaging, and quality control of various leafy greens and herbs grown in our state-of-the-art indoor facility. Full training will be provided to ensure success in this vital role, focusing on best practices for hygiene, plant health, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily harvesting of a variety of hydroponically grown crops according to established protocols.
- Inspect produce for quality, freshness, and adherence to company standards during harvesting.
- Prepare harvested crops for packaging, ensuring proper handling and labeling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the grow facility, adhering to strict sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with crop rotation, planting, and general plant care as needed.
- Monitor plant health and report any anomalies or issues to the farm management team.
- Operate and maintain basic farm equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to hygiene and food safety practices.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and following instructions.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in varied climate-controlled conditions.
- No prior hydroponic or farming experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleanroom, food production, or agricultural setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic plant biology or horticulture.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
