Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as an Industrial Degreaser. This is a heavy-duty role critical to maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of various industrial sites across North Sydney. You will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and degreasing of industrial machinery, equipment, and production areas using specialized tools and chemicals. This position requires significant physical stamina, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in challenging environments. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment, including high-pressure washers, scrubbers, and degreasing machines.
- Apply appropriate degreasing agents and cleaning solutions safely and effectively to remove grease, grime, and industrial residue.
- Clean and degrease heavy machinery, production lines, floors, walls, and other surfaces in industrial settings.
- Adhere strictly to all safety data sheets (SDS) and company safety procedures for chemical handling and equipment operation.
- Perform general labour duties and assist with waste removal and site clean-up as required.
- Inspect work areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and compliance with hygiene regulations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or chemical spills to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to cleaning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) principles.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an industrial or heavy labour environment.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) or ability to obtain one.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with operating forklifts or other heavy machinery (license preferred).
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certificates.
