Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Security Manager to join our dynamic team in Glengormley, Northern Ireland. This pivotal role involves overseeing the comprehensive information security program, ensuring the protection of our critical assets and compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing security policies, procedures, and systems. You will lead a dedicated team, conduct risk assessments, respond to security incidents, and drive continuous improvement in our security posture. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility. We are able to offer Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for suitable international candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust information security policies, standards, and guidelines across the organisation.
- Oversee the management and optimisation of security systems and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending effective mitigation strategies.
- Lead the swift and effective response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and post-incident recovery.
- Ensure continuous compliance with relevant security frameworks, regulations, and laws such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and local data protection acts.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of information security professionals.
- Provide expert advice and strategic guidance on information security best practices to various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Stay abreast of the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends to proactively enhance our security posture.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in information security management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of information security principles, frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and industry best practices.
- Demonstrable experience with security incident response and management processes.
- Familiarity with network security, application security, cloud security concepts, and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex security issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Eligible to work in the UK, with Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) available for qualified international candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+).
- Experience working in a large-scale, complex telecommunications or technology organisational environment.
- Knowledge of telecommunications specific security standards and regulations.
- Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
