Job Description
Are you a passionate PR student eager to kickstart your career in a vibrant agency setting? Lumina Communications is offering a paid internship opportunity for a motivated PR student to join our team in Osborne Park. This is an incredible chance to gain real-world experience, learn from industry experts, and contribute to exciting client campaigns. You will work closely with our experienced PR professionals, supporting various projects and developing essential skills in public relations. This role is designed for someone with enthusiasm, a strong desire to learn, and a foundational understanding of communications principles. Full training and mentorship will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily media monitoring and news aggregation relevant to client industries.
- Support the drafting of press releases, media alerts, social media content, and internal communications.
- Conduct research on industry trends, media contacts, and potential client opportunities.
- Aid in the coordination and execution of PR events and campaigns.
- Manage and update media lists and client databases.
- Provide general administrative support to the PR team.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for client strategies.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A genuine passion for public relations and media.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and their role in PR.
- Prior experience with student publications, university clubs, or volunteer work related to communications.
- Familiarity with PR measurement tools or media databases (training will be provided).
