Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Inventory Control Clerk to join our team in Victor Harbor. This critical role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring stock levels are optimised, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable working independently within a fast-paced environment. Please note, this position involves shift work to cover operational hours and does not include phone-based customer service or supplier communication. All interactions will be internal and process-driven.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records using company systems
- Monitor stock movement and report on inventory levels
- Identify and investigate root causes of inventory variances
- Assist with the receiving and dispatching of goods as required
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimise inventory flow
- Prepare reports on inventory performance and analysis
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary)
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Physical fitness to perform tasks that may include lifting and standing for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for assigned shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a similar logistics role
- Experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Forklift license or willingness to obtain one
- Understanding of retail or supply chain operations
