Job Description
Are you passionate about design, interiors, and transforming spaces? Jellis Craig Ballarat is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Interior Stylist Intern to join our dynamic property styling team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for aesthetics and a desire to learn the art of property presentation from industry experts. You will gain hands-on experience in preparing properties for sale, understanding market trends, and creating captivating visual appeal that helps our clients achieve premium results. No prior professional experience in styling is required – we are looking for raw talent, enthusiasm, and a strong willingness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior stylists with property styling consultations and installations.
- Help with furniture and decor selection, transport, and placement.
- Support the styling team in preparing properties for photography and open inspections.
- Maintain inventory of styling items, ensuring they are well-organized and presented.
- Research current interior design trends and market preferences.
- Assist with the de-staging process after property sales.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized styling warehouse.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for interior design, home decor, and visual aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift and move light to medium furniture items.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Basic understanding of design principles (color, balance, proportion) a plus, but not essential.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and access to reliable transport (preferred, but not essential for initial stages).
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently studying or recently completed a course in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field.
- Previous experience in customer service or a fast-paced retail environment.
- Portfolio of personal styling projects or mood boards (even if non-professional).
