Job Description
Northern Tasmania Healthcare is seeking a diligent and reliable Laundry Assistant to join our team in Launceston. This part-time morning position is vital to maintaining our high standards of hygiene and patient care within a hospital setting. You will be responsible for the efficient processing of hospital linen, ensuring a continuous supply of clean, sanitized materials for various departments. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking stable morning employment in a critical support role.
Key Responsibilities
- Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing hospital linen, gowns, and uniforms.
- Operating industrial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhering to strict hygiene and infection control protocols at all times.
- Monitoring laundry supplies and reporting any low stock levels or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintaining a clean and organized laundry area.
- Assisting with other general duties as required to support hospital operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
