Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and vigilant Lifeguards to join our team at Everyone Active Stroud Leisure Centre. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all pool users, maintaining a safe swimming environment, and responding effectively to any emergencies. This role is crucial in upholding our high standards of safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the swimming pool area to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all swimmers.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
- Respond immediately and effectively to any emergency situations, including performing rescues and providing first aid.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the pool area and equipment.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for swimming lessons and other activities.
- Maintain a clean and tidy poolside environment.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors with inquiries and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Attend regular staff training sessions and maintain your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
Required Skills
- Current and valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
- A responsible and proactive approach to safety.
- Good physical fitness and swimming ability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Lifeguard in a leisure centre or similar environment.
- An additional First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience in customer service roles.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a leisure facility.
