Job Description
Are you passionate about live music and events? Do you have a strong work ethic, excellent physical stamina, and a desire to learn the ropes of live sound engineering? Pulse Audio Visual Solutions is seeking a dedicated and energetic Live Sound Engineering Assistant to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in event production, providing hands-on experience in setting up and operating sound systems for a variety of exciting concerts and festivals across the region. While some heavy lifting is a core part of the role, full training on sound equipment and engineering principles will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior sound engineers with the setup, rigging, and teardown of audio equipment including PA systems, monitors, mixing consoles, microphones, and cables.
- Perform heavy lifting and careful transportation of audio equipment to and from event sites.
- Manage cable runs and ensure proper labeling and organization of equipment.
- Conduct basic equipment checks and report any faults or damages.
- Support sound checks and show operations as directed by lead engineers.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace backstage and at front-of-house positions.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures.
- Be proactive in learning about various audio equipment and sound engineering techniques.
- Travel to various event locations, sometimes involving irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Skills
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
- A strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full UK driving license with access to own transport (preferred due to varied locations).
- Basic understanding of audio equipment or electronics.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or event-based work.
- A genuine passion for live music and events.
