Job Description
As a Manufacturing / Production Engineer at Applied Materials in San Jose, CA, you will be instrumental in optimizing our semiconductor manufacturing processes. This role involves improving efficiency, quality, cost, and safety across various production lines. You will analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with R&D, design, and quality teams to ensure seamless transition of new products from development to production.
- Qualify and validate new equipment and processes to meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process specifications, work instructions, and training materials.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all manufacturing operations.
- Provide technical support and training to production operators and technicians.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Materials Science)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or process engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience in the semiconductor, electronics, or advanced materials industry
- Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and ERP systems
- Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
