Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Doctor / General Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Kingston, Ontario. This full-time position is ideal for a dedicated physician eager to provide comprehensive primary care services within a supportive hospital network. As a General Practitioner at KHSC, you will play a crucial role in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care management. We value a patient-centered approach and strong communication skills. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medication and recommending lifestyle changes.
- Refer patients to specialists as appropriate and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Perform minor medical procedures (e.g., wound care, immunizations, basic suturing).
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
- Provide health education, preventive care, and counseling on health maintenance.
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all medical ethics, professional standards, and relevant Canadian healthcare regulations.
Required Skills
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent from a recognized institution).
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) or equivalent.
- Previous experience practicing as a General Practitioner in a community or hospital setting.
- Experience with diverse patient populations and cultural sensitivities.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
