Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Millwright / Industrial Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Scarborough, Ontario. As an integral part of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes precision tasks such as fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, balancing moving parts, and performing repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans and blueprints.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, setup, and repair of machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities such as lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting machinery.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and other metal fabrication tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Mentor junior technicians and apprentices as needed.

Required Skills

  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal certification or equivalent international qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a certified Millwright in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
  • Solid understanding of lockout/tagout procedures and other industrial safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • Dual certification (e.g., Millwright and Welder).
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with robotic systems and automation equipment.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are an asset.
