Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team in Surrey, British Columbia. This is an exceptional opportunity for an international professional looking to advance their career in Canada, as LMIA / Visa Sponsorship is provided for qualified candidates. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, planning, and optimization of mining projects, contributing to all phases from conceptual studies to operational support. You will work on diverse projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mine planning, design, and optimization studies for surface and underground operations.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs for mine infrastructure, haul roads, and waste facilities.
  • Perform economic analyses, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for mining projects.
  • Utilize mining software packages (e.g., Deswik, MineSight, Vulcan) for design and scheduling.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, environmental scientists, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Participate in site visits and field investigations as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine planning, design, or operations.
  • Proficiency with major mining software (e.g., Deswik, MineSight, Vulcan, AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of mining methods, unit operations, and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or eligibility to register.
  • Experience with pit optimization, reserve estimation, and financial modeling.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to international projects.
  • Project management experience or certifications.
