Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mold Remediation Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sale. As a Skilled Mold Remediation Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing mold contamination, implementing effective remediation strategies, and ensuring the safe and thorough removal of mold from affected properties. This role requires a strong understanding of IICRC S520 standards, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a healthy environment for our clients. You will operate specialized equipment, adhere strictly to safety protocols, and document all stages of the remediation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough on-site assessments to identify mold contamination, determine the scope of damage, and formulate remediation plans.
- Set up containment barriers and negative air pressure systems to prevent cross-contamination.
- Safely remove mold-contaminated materials using appropriate techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Clean and disinfect affected areas, ensuring all visible mold and odors are eliminated.
- Operate and maintain specialized remediation equipment, including air scrubbers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA vacuums.
- Perform post-remediation verification testing to confirm successful mold removal.
- Document all project activities, including observations, procedures, and test results.
- Communicate effectively with clients, explaining procedures, timelines, and answering questions.
- Adhere strictly to industry safety standards (e.g., IICRC S520) and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mold remediation.
- Valid IICRC Mold Remediation Technician (MRT) certification or equivalent.
- Proficiency in setting up containment, negative air, and utilizing specialized remediation equipment.
- Thorough understanding of mold types, growth patterns, and health effects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to varying site conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to wear full personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in confined spaces.
- Valid UK driving license with a clean record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional IICRC certifications (e.g., WRT, ASD).
- Knowledge of building construction and repair methods.
- Experience with thermal imaging cameras and moisture meters.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
