Job Description
This role is for a versatile and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Motel All-Rounder. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our motel, providing outstanding service across various functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a dynamic environment, often in beautiful regional settings like Byron Bay.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously, ensuring a welcoming arrival and departure experience.
- Handle reservations, inquiries, and guest requests via phone, email, and in-person, maintaining professional communication at all times.
- Perform daily room cleaning and maintenance to high standards, including changing linens, tidying rooms, and replenishing supplies.
- Assist with light laundry duties for linens and towels, ensuring a fresh supply for guests.
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks and report larger issues promptly to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of common areas, reception, and grounds, contributing to an inviting atmosphere.
- Process payments accurately and manage daily cash reconciliation.
- Provide local information and recommendations to guests, enhancing their stay and promoting local attractions.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with email and reservation systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage varied tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical fitness for cleaning, lifting, and light maintenance tasks.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, hotel, or motel operations.
- First Aid certificate.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Experience with property management systems (PMS) such as RMS or Little Hotelier.
