Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Neuroscience Research Intern to join our dynamic Cognitive Lab. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional research environment, contributing to ongoing projects focused on attention, memory, and decision-making. The intern will work closely with senior researchers, assisting with various aspects of the research process from study design to data analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates eager to develop their research skills and explore a career in neuroscience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and setup of cognitive experiments
- Recruit and schedule research participants
- Administer cognitive tasks and collect data (behavioral, EEG, fNIRS)
- Perform initial data cleaning and pre-processing
- Contribute to literature reviews and background research
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure a safe research environment
- Participate in lab meetings and present findings as required
- Support general administrative tasks for the lab
Required Skills
- Strong interest in neuroscience, psychology, or cognitive science
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to follow research protocols meticulously
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn new research methodologies and software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Python for data analysis)
- Familiarity with experimental software (e.g., Psychopy, E-Prime)
- Prior experience with human participant research (e.g., as a research assistant, volunteer)
