Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Nurse Assessor to join our professional team in Glasgow. In this vital role, you will conduct comprehensive health assessments for individuals, evaluating their functional capabilities and daily living needs. This position requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to produce accurate, evidence-based reports. You will work within a supportive environment, contributing to a service that directly impacts individuals’ access to essential support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face and telephone-based assessments with individuals to gather information about how their health conditions impact their daily lives.
- Utilise clinical skills and knowledge to complete detailed, factual, and accurate reports that adhere to strict quality guidelines.
- Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring assessments are completed within designated timeframes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to assessments.
- Maintain continuous professional development and adhere to NMC guidelines and company policies.
- Provide clear, concise, and sensitive communication with all claimants, ensuring a positive experience.
Required Skills
- Registered Nurse (Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disability) with current NMC registration.
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration clinical experience.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and ability to synthesise complex information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of empathetic listening.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and case management.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a demanding caseload.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a disability assessment, occupational health, or similar assessment-based role.
- Experience in general medicine, community nursing, or complex care.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting clinical interviews and assessments.
