Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Operating Room / Theatre Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team in Berkeley, California. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room with all necessary sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining sterile fields.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and document all care provided.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient assessment and education.
- Collaborate with the surgical team, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, infection control policies, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and surgical documentation.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligibility to obtain.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification (Certified Nurse Operating Room).
- Experience with specialized surgical areas (e.g., neurosurgery, cardiovascular, orthopedics).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience working in a Magnet-recognized facility.
