Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Parks Weed Control Hand to join our dedicated Local Council Team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about outdoor work and maintaining the beauty of our public spaces. You will play a crucial role in identifying and controlling weeds across Toowoomba’s diverse parks, sporting fields, and natural reserves. Full training will be provided to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to excel in this essential role.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify common weeds and invasive plant species in various park environments.
- Apply appropriate weed control methods, including manual removal, spot spraying, and operating small machinery.
- Operate and maintain hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow strict safety protocols and Council guidelines for chemical handling and equipment use.
- Report weed infestations and treatment progress to supervisors.
- Assist with general park maintenance tasks as required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License (essential for site travel).
