Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Yellow Point Farm Market as a Petting Zoo Enclosure Cleaner. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare, enjoy working outdoors, and are committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our animals and visitors. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience in animal care is necessary, just a strong work ethic and a genuine love for animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all animal enclosures, barns, and common areas daily.
- Muck stalls, remove waste, and replenish bedding materials.
- Clean and sanitize food and water troughs.
- Ensure enclosures are safe, secure, and free from hazards.
- Assist with general groundskeeping tasks around the petting zoo area.
- Monitor animal health and report any concerns to animal care staff.
- Follow all safety protocols and animal welfare guidelines.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and respect for animals.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail regarding cleanliness and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a farm, animal care, or cleaning role (not strictly required, but a bonus).
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of basic animal husbandry.
